This week I posted on Twitter "Lake Shore has an awesome CFE class! Learn about it here: saran18.weebly .com"
The below link is my final exam.
This week I read the "15 Secret Disney Employee Rules." The rule that stood out to me that most is the cast member are not supposed to talk about any characters that are not Disney. I think that rule is kind of crazy but I think it's fair. Having employees that are really in character makes Disney parks that much more special. Disney parks are where dreams come true and that can't happen for kids if employees are not fully committed to their characters. If someone is not up to being in character they could ruin a little kids dreams, so they should just not work at Disney. (Enjoy the throwback pic of Minnie and I at Disneyland)
This week I got to tour a plant at another location. I got to see how they are putting together some sections of the assembly line. I got to see some sections that were just getting started and some that were almost complete. None of them were running yet but Olaf said that he will take me back in a few weeks when they are. I also got to see weld guns which are what I've been working on. It gave me a new perspective to be able to see the weld guns in real life versus being a drawing. This was really cool to see and has made more excited to be an engineer.
This week I read "15 Traits of the Ideal Employee." I believe that the most important trait is passion. I believe that employers want an employee who is going to want to show up to work everyday and be excited to work. A work place is much better if people like being there and are positive. I also think a passionate employee will do better work because they will want to be proud of their work. I believe that I have this trait because I have passion when it comes to work. I know that it is a great honor to be able to have a co-op in high school and I am proud of that. I am getting really skilled with weld gun investigations. Repetition is really helping me. Every study I do gets a little harder so I am still getting challenged. Since I am just redo old study my supervisor gave me a study where a lot of the weld guns did not fit. This was pretty frustrating but I made it through and finished it.
This week I have done more with weld gun investigations. I did more of what I did last week so I could become stronger in it. I also did the next step of taking "sections". This involves making a power point of what I did so the next person could understand what I did. Overall, this week was pretty interesting and I enjoyed it.
One thing that I got a lower score on is "He/she uses logical reasoning to analyze data and make designs." I am already getting better at this because I am understanding what I'm doing more. Before I would have to ask for help whenever I would have a problem, but now I can usually solve them myself. A strong point of mine is "He/she demonstrates a positive attitude when interacting with peers/supervisors." I am always trying to say hi to people and tell them to have a good day, so it must make an impression because my employer scored me high for this. This week I did weld gun investigations. A weld gun investigation is when I have to define where a weld is going to be on a part and then add a weld gun to it. I then have to move the gun so that its not hitting any other part of the part. Right now the weld guns that I put in are already chosen but eventually I will have to pick the ones I'm putting in. I like what I'm doing right because it's more challenging than anything else I've done here.
This week I read 1000 awesome things. The awesome thing that I read about was "Baby to baby love". This article described how babies show love to each other and he shared a story of a baby giving another baby his cracker and the second baby tore of his diaper to give back to the first baby. This is awesome because babies don't know how to mean and it's super cute when babies love each other. I have a baby cousin and a family friend who met the other day and it's just so sweet to see little kids play. This week involved a lot of training. I was walked through the whole process of what happens when a tool is processed. The coolest part of the process that I learned was weld gun investigations. This involves looking at a CAD design of a tool with a part in it and aligning a weld gun to it. After the weld gun is put into the drawing I have to check to see if the weld gun is right for it. Eventually I will have to pick the weld gun, but I have a lot of learning to do before that happens.
If I won the power ball jackpot the first thing that I would do is paying off my parents house and other debts. My parents have done so much for me and they would defiantly deserve the money. The first thing I would buy for myself would be a new car because I really need one. Even after I won I would still work because I would get really bored if I just sat around everyday, however I would only work part-time because I would still want some time do other things. I would also donate money to charities including ones for animals. |
